ATU's Cutting-Edge Shop Steward training empowers more than 75+ Shop Stewards from Locals across
California. Today in San Jose, CA, over 75+ Shop Stewards from various Locals across California participated in ATU's revamped Shop Steward training program. This program aims to equip Shop Stewards with the skills
and knowledge they need to effectively represent their fellow members and our Union. Led by staff from ATU International, the interactive training emphasized the vital role of Shop Stewards by equipping them with the tools necessary to advocate effectively for their members within their Locals. It included discussions on leadership, organization, and effective communication. Participants gained essential skills, strategies, and a deeper understanding of a Shop Steward's rights, empowering them to strengthen their Locals, safeguard their members, and prepare for future challenges. The training incorporated practical exercises where attendees learned about their legal rights, negotiation tactics, grievance procedures, and the various responsibilities associated with the role. With this new group of knowledgeable and skilled Shop Stewards, ATU is ensuring that workers' voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
